Want your student to take 7th or even 8th grade math as a 6th grader? This class will help them prepare for the middle school math placement test by reviewing fifth grade math concepts and previewing sixth grade math.

Course Description:
Want your student to take 7th or even 8th grade math as a 6th grader? This class will help them prepare for the middle school math placement test by reviewing fifth grade math concepts and previewing sixth grade math, which make up 70% and 30% of the test, respectively. Smallgroup classes will include explanations of concepts, time to do practice problems/practice tests, and an environment for students to ask individualized questions.

Requirements:
Students need to mastering addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division of whole numbers, addition, subtraction, and multiplication of fractions, decimals, mixed numbers and basic PreAlgebra skills.
What's Included in this Course:

What Students Learn:
Review of some 5th grade topics:

Order of operations, evaluating expressions

Place value, decimals, word problems with money

Multiplying/dividing 2 or 3digit numbers

Adding/subtracting fractions, least common denominators

Comparing and converting units
Preview of some 6th grade topics:

Ratios, unit rates, unit price

Operations with fractions and decimals

Factors, GCF, and LCMFa

Rational numbers and the coordinate plane

Exponents

Variable expressions, equations, and inequalities
